The Light Foundation (TLF) was formed in 2006 by a group of concerned individuals led by Ali Aboubakari Napari, who are motivated by their selfless spirit to contribute toward the improvement of their communities. The Organization is based at Madina in the Ga East District of the Greater Accra Region and a branch office at Tamale in the Northern region of Ghana. TLF started as a community based organization in 1999 and in view of the growing demand for its services registered formally as an NGO in 2006. TLF since its inception has undertaken several sensitization and advocacy seminars on various health related topics such as Adolescent Reproduction Health (ARH) and Sexually Transmitted Infection including HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis in a number of communities. It has also provided portable water, support for the construction of schools and provision of skills training in deprived communities
The Light Foundation (TLF) is a non governmental, not for profit making organization working with local communities to create positive, equitable and sustainable change. The goal of TLF’s program is to contribute towards the improvement of the quality of life of women and Vulnerable Children in Ghana by strengthening the capacity of Ghanaian communities to provide prevention, care and support and impact mitigation interventions to the numerous Ghanaian communities who have problems with AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, provision of portable water, and poor educational facilities as well as support for numerous vulnerable communities whose source of livelihood is uncertain as a result of varied socio-cultural, economic and political factors.
